Many schools give a "two-day crash course. " While this format appears
to be prevalent within the industry it is by no means the best format.
The college provides you with study manuals that you review during the
period before your "two-day crash course. " When you get to the class
you'll sit for 8 hours and review the same material might already been
studying. How is this beneficial? It's not. The probability of the
instructor being knowledgeable in most contractor category are slim to
none of them.
So there are plenty of yourself sitting down in a
class with an instructor who knows nothing about your specific business,
after having taken two days off and spending $4+ a gallon in gas to get
there and back contractor license exam orange county. Sounds like a waste of time and money to me.
These
schools also offer "application review. " Beware of this! The personnel
employed by these schools haven't worked well at the Contractors
Condition License Board or even worked in the deals and a huge vast
majority of them really have no clue what should and should not be
integrated in the application. Numerous schools will take the data you
provide, complete the application and return it for you for signatures
without confirming that any of the information you provided will pass
the CSLB's review process. Locate a service that has on their personnel a
former CSLB program technician who knows first hand how to process an
application so that it will not be rejected.
I recently helped a consumer
whose application was refused (after he passed both State exams)
because his application, specifically his work experience, was done
wrongly. Was this his fault? No, because he'd never completed a
contractor's Express application before. He paid a "school" to complete
his application for your pet plus they didn't bother to verify if any of
the information was correct or if it achieved the requirements of the
State.
How about study materials? There are many types and
formats of research materials available. You want to find a service that
offers the most up-to-date information available. Don't be taken in
by! we are the major
college, we've helped thousands, and so on. That means nothing. Request
to speak with some of their recent clients. They will be the best judges
of the material provided by the school.
Do your home work contracts up with a school and spending two days sitting in a classroom. Choose an institution that will benefit You, not the college!
